Matthew Monge, Risk Manager and Trader

Matthew Monge has spent his entire career in the securities and commodities industries. Throughout his time in the markets, he has served in a number of roles.

He started his career in 1997 as an arbitrage clerk in the Standard & Poor’s 500 pit at the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE). He completed rotations as a clerk in multiple index options products at the CBOE, Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT), and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME). Subsequently, Matthew became a member of the CBOE. On the floor of the CBOE, he served as an equity options market maker, eventually becoming a Designated Primary Market Maker.

Moving off the trading floor, Matthew managed a sector-targeted dispersion portfolio and, later, a Russell 2000 market-making operation. Matthew eventually moved from equity options to commodity options. Initially trading as a member of the CBOT in the wheat options pit. He again left the trading floor and made markets in over-the-counter natural gas options. Returning to securities, Matthew managed a portfolio of electronically traded equity options.  In 2016, Matthew and colleagues founded a proprietary trading firm focused on strategic opportunities in both S&P 500 and equity options.

Matthew holds a Series 3 license and is registered with the National Futures Association. He graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics. He looks forward to addressing Quartzite's clients' complex risk management needs.
